Roddy...

All 7 of you were due to play earlier in the year and, even more recently, attend the MOJO Awards.

Ironic that fate intervened on both occasions so that apparently it was only 6 but, that aside, why not 7 anymore...?

I've seen the clip of Jerry slagging Terry's manager but - whatever that issue is - surely it couldn't/shouldn't stop the full reunion?

Many fans would love to see 6 play together again (me included) but many more would prefer to see the full reunion.

What do the band think - surely you'd prefer it to be all 7...????

...okay....so....you gave it a go as a 7 but Jerry Sir Sydney Shelf Stackered you all off...so it's 6?

Surely - in an ideal world - you'd all prefer it to be a 7.....not least as it would be more credible - and, dare I say it, potentially more commercially beneficial. But if it doesn't work, then it's obviously just not going to happen.

Either way, I'll be watching the 6...it's just so frustrating that having waited 27 years it was so near, so yet so far....

Hey I saw Lynval with Dave Wakeling and that was just one special. I thought it was fantastic!! I'd probably shoot a load if I even got to see a few more of the specials. Is that lady like of me??

Even tho me and Brad + Nevelle wanted Jerry on board i dont think we would of got passed the third rehearsal somehow..
Jerry cleverman tho he is ,has always had some strange idears.
At the last rehearsal that only 4 of us turned up at he said he wanted to play the old stuff half the tempo of the original recordings and proceeded to programe his very old battered drum machine..
We played "Stereotype" and by the end of the song my head was almost touching my guitar (i was playing sitting down) i felt like all the pain and bad memorys had come back to haunt me once again..
I dont think the Specials would be even considering giging if we had the seven together, it would of dragged on until next year with fewer and fewer members turning up..

So its all looking good for a six piece band. Please tell me that you will have a stand in on keys. The Specials sound without keys wouldnt sound right.
I know you have been asked this numerous times Roddy, but how long untill some gig news and/or ticket sales.

Keep it all up guys, you will make a lot of people very happy.

Roddy...thanks for giving a straight answer on 7 v 6...interesting stuff...the police reformed with andy summers aged 65 so plenty of time yet for jerry to reconsider(!)....gigs should be sound - looking forward to it...cheers.

Kevin Rowland did that on Dexys 2003 reunion tour. 'Geno' sounded like it needed a kick up the jacksie.

They are on stage at the moment. Bestival in IOW. Going down a storm apparently. Arrgghhh!!! I was offered tickets aswell and turned them down.
