Well its a tough one really, I bet there are alot of fans who love to hear stuff "note for note", but as Shan says that youve all grown up and matured and become better musicians since 79, it would be nice to see and hear how youve progressed. If I just wanted to hear the albums I would stay at home as its a Desperate Dan sight cheaper and more comfortable to listen to them there. I personally always thought the 1st L.Ps production wasnt too great anyway, I know Costello tried but the mix in places was pretty awful, I found that the reissues from 2002 were beefier and less tinny. Has Lynval actually done a straw poll on this one?, or has he just judged the crowd that way and assumes thats what we want too hear it?.

Variety is the spice of life and all that, always good to hear something old played in a new way.I personally like the odd twang that Roddy puts into "Message To You" that wasn't on the orginal recording or any bootlegs from back in the day,i often find myself playing air guitar along to in in the car or at a gig.

What would that achieve Roddy?
The DVD should be an actual account of the shows.; But saying that. Its always good to improvise on certain songs. Although to please everybody, why not do some brand new songs next time around along with the old stuff. That would make the show fresher and more interesting for everyone.
Saying that id go to any show featuring any of you. I love music in general, and i have seen quite a few of you in your own enterprises and never been dissapointed.
