Maybe i could get perscription drugs and sleep mostly.. Ive used these in the past www.healthmonthly.co.uk/swanson_melatonin_1They are a naturally occuring chemical in the old bonce that control sleep. I could also do you a C.D of Binaural sounds that slow your brain patterns down so that you have a restful night.

So is this tour about getting as much leverage and cash out of the static past without any weight going forward? Sad old people clinging desperately to what was. I think this is why I've tended to dislike following popular trends as they're mostly a fetish that doesn't go anywhere. Milk the cow dry

Well I like it, and whilst I sort of agree about the milking the cow dry, I think the Specials have put something back in the shape of being the spark that's driving a massive surge of music here at the moment.

They said to me when we reformed, the fans want only to hear the 1st two Albums exactly the way they were recorded.... which goes against everything i belive in. Which is why they try,n, get a mickey mouse live sound.. the poor sound engineer is caught between "the Devil and the Deep blue Sea"

The Specials are known as a punchy club act which the chiefs are turning into an overblown Disney stadium act with all the merchandise and distractions and thousands boasting "I wuz there!"
Is this the in place to be?

welcome to 2011 hugh... the music business still sucks. maybe you just weren't made for these times??? i think it's great that many younger folks have gotten the opportunity to hear the spatulas LIVE and DIRECT... the only problem, as i see it from the outside, is a lack of unity and respect between some of the members of the group, turning what could have really been the musical event of the new millennium into a revival act that even poor roddy appears utterly frustrated w/... and thanks to the web, we getta view the madness every step of the way!@#$%? fascinating from a voyeuristic perspective, but hella frustrating for any fan of the original incarnation of the band who is not stuck in 1979... The Specials are known as a punchy club act which the chiefs are turning into an overblown Disney stadium act with all the merchandise and distractions and thousands boasting "I wuz there!" Is this the in place to be?

roddy, you should be commended for your open communication. imagine it's just the way you are... your songwriting and playing are CRUCIAL to the spatulas sonic and cultural DNA both past and future. this current line-up would be a disgrace w/o your vital contributions...

I think for the original tour the "as it was then" was a valid way of playing the songs we all know & love.
For me though, it should have moved on, the RAH Gig was a perfect opportunity to mark a line in the sand and say from now on everything is played in a "as we are today" way.
