it's sunny at the South Coast this is true, but someone forget to put the penny in the meter as it's freezing here at the moment.

I took my nephew into the guitar shop in my local town on Monday, he likes to look in there and bash the keyboards. I have to make it look like I might buy something, so I started to try out afew acoustic guits. I was strumming bankrobber by the Clash when I was approached by an elderly couple. the man asked "how do you that?". I said "what ,play?". He said "yes". I had to give him a lesson in open chords and show him where his fingers need to be and how to support the neck with his thumb. He said he had just turned 74 and wanted a new challenge in life and so has just bought himself a guitar, he asked me some advice for learning. I told him the only bit of advice Id ever got. Get a chord book and try and play along to your favourite records.
He thanked me for the help. I think he thought I worked there or something. Still nice to be able to offer some advice however limited. Its also the first time Ive played solo in front of an audience for 20 years.
