Kevin Roland was a very determined man who had his own plan. They kept to themselves on the Two Tone tour and i only got to know some of them when the Bureau toured with the Tearjerkers and Modettes in the eaerly 80,s "The good the bad and the ugly" tour*

What did you think about Dexys using one of your songs at the start of the 'Searching For the Young Soul Rebels' album?

If you listen to the start of 'Searching For the Young Soul Rebels' just before tracks 1 (Burn It Down) kicks in you can hear a short clip of 'Rat Race' been played on a radio.

Didnt know they did?? Mind you i havent taken any Dexys since the early 80,s.. Last Wednesday the Daily Mail gave away copies of Dexys album 'Searching For The Young Soul Rebels'. I didn't get a copy myself as I have the album already and wouldn't be seen dead buying the Daily Mail. But I'm told that the details on the back sleeve include the writing credits for the brief snatches of "Smoke On The Water", "Holidays In The Sun" and "Rat Race" - which I don't think has ever apperared before on any previous release of the album.

Sounds like time for Mr Rowland to cough up some royalties for the use of that great tune, a man of his artistic integrity I am sure will have no qualms in sending on a nice fat cheque.

Good old Dandy - is he still with us? Still alive and he'll be 65 in December.
