In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.

Sadam Hussain hung out hiding in a hole till the very end
Adolf Hitler hid out in a bunker at the end.
Both Generals of their own armies in some way.
Anyone else and I would feel sorry for then but, I'm not sure I would have been going out of my way to welcome them with open arms.

Oliver Cromwell was an English military and political leader best known for his involvement in making England into a republican Commonwealth and for his later role as Lord Protector of England, Scotland and Ireland. He was one of the commanders of the New Model Army which defeated the royalists in the English Civil War. After the execution of King Charles I in 1649, Cromwell dominated the short-lived Commonwealth of England, conquered Ireland and Scotland, and ruled as Lord Protector from 1653 until his death in 1658.

Drogheda, a town in eastern Ireland, was besieged twice in the 1640s, during the Irish Confederate Wars and the Irish theatre of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. The first siege occurred during the Irish Rebellion of 1641, when Phelim O'Neill and the insurgents failed to take the town. The second and more famous siege happened in 1649, during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland, when the New Model Army under Oliver Cromwell took the town by storm and massacred its garrison, and many civilians.

Not to get political, but Oliver Cromwell was a murdering coont of the highest calibre and his name is usually responded to in Ireland by a spit on the ground, even to this day.
Having said that, Roddys "mate" Elvis Costello did write a top tune about him all those years ago (Olivers Army).

Yep i heard Jezza was there? hope he enjoyed himself.. Perhaps he was there to see how much in royalties he was going to be getting to keep him happy in retirement. Strangely, Jerry's going to profit from the reunion regardless of wether he plays or not!

I wasn't saying that he didn't deserve it, when Hugh Cornwell left the Stranglers, they continued with a new vocalist, in all the time the new singer was in the band, Hugh Cornwell earned more money from the Stranglers than he did! It's just a funny old world!
