That is what they say..but there were many on both sides who felt slavery had to end. Also alot on the Union side who were pro slavery! Sherman for one..

There is slavery still going on, it's mostly kids it seems.
Read a recent article the other day on the newspaper where a girl who was about 8 years of age working as a servant in a house in Southern California, Irving(snooty rich people). She is an Egyptian girl who was sold by her father to an Egyptian family. A neighbor noticed some child working all hours of the night reported to the authority what was going on. The authority contacted the parents and the father of the child yelled at the little girl for speaking up.

The first time the Specials played L.A. i ordered a pizza from my hotel and a ten yr old Mexican boy brought it to my door ..i gave him a 10 dollar Tip (1980) and he stood there open mouthed.. Probably more than he was paid for the week?

Boston is where most of my Dutch family are all at. Used to look for my last name when ever I was in a different city. But there, several pages... Lots in the graveyards as well.... Went there for a family re-union several years back.. Best seafood ever. Not sure what it is about traveling with me, I tend to eat anything and everything. chomp.. chomp..

Roddy.. according to The Stranglers website, Bassline Magazine has voted the bassline for the stranglers song "Peaches" as the number one bassline of all time. Guns of Brixton and Dawning of a new era or equal or better in my opinion. Im sure your pal Lemmy would vote for a Hawkwind or Pink Fairies song... www.stranglers.net/

Are you interested in the American War Of Independance as well as the Civil War? If so, I've got a copy of the recent dramatisation of the life of John Adams. If you want a copy, let me know. Also, the second series of the Radio 4 doBanana Milkshakeentary about the Civil War starts today, see www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/america/. Side note: I heard that D ick Cuthell's not well. Do you know anything?
