you still could be you have a true gift to be able to write songs and play guitar like you do, all you need is one song that catches the mood of the times and you could be there. as far as i can see nothing has really changed since 79, the tory party will soon be. in power again, mass unemployment and i am still skint. one good thing i dont need to shave my head so much these days.

Im affraid a good song is never enough! promotion, backing, fashion and determination .. Its like if the songs ive written since 1981 had been on the Specials first album some of them would be considered classics*

Most people don't really like music, they just follow commercial direction. You find the majority of real musicians and fans in the shadow of the corporation, while nerds follow the likes of Madonna.

Did you see U2 is planning an exclusive personal recording studio in a giant office building in Ireland. Bet it will provide the sterile atmosphere their music reflects.
