just recieved an email from a facebook group saying :Hi guys, As soon as we have confirmation of gig dates and ticket sale dates, We will let you know any inside info roddy??? The person who runs the Terry Hall MySpace page put out a bulletin today to say that the 2008 tour dates will be announced on 5th December. Not sure if it's an official MySpace page though or just a page run by a fan.

Sounds great. As long everyone gets tickets, what could go wrong?! Depeche Mode are only doing one date so far for the whole of the UK - and while its at the huge (?souless) O2 Arena, it sold out very quickly. Oh yes - and theres the touts selling tickets for around £100 - £150+! Lots of people like me moaning!

I started off with the whole anticipation of the Specials re-union. Wanted to know when and where.
Perhaps I maybe the only person here who feels this way.... Not excited about the Specials touring at all. It seems at times it is causing more pain than happiness. More memories are being stirred, more resentment are brought into light. Finally got to read the Mojo thing and I have to say, Jerry seems an a-s-s. A big j-e-r-k of an a-s-s.
Family members are even getting on board and stirring things up. Just makes me sad about the entire thing.
Don't get me wrong, if The Specials tour, I hope great happiness for them. Hope it goes beyond their expectations.
I think the only thing I am really looking forward to, if and when it happens, is seeing Roddy and the Skabilly Rebels come over to the states.

Perhaps I maybe the only person here who feels this way.... Not excited about the Specials touring at all. Same here. Loved The Specials back in the day but was a bit Too Much Too Young to see them live at the time. But these days I'd much rather see/hear the new music that Roddy is making with the Skabilly Rebels, Lynval with Pama International (off to see them again this weekend!), Terry Hall solo/Dub Pistols, etc. Seen too many bands reform over the years and it's just not been the same. Saying that, I reformed one of my old bands this year after a gap of 10 years but then we were cr@p 1st time round.

I can't wait for The Specials to reform.
It can't come sooner enough! This will be my NUMBER 1 gig for 2009 and beyond!
