Blur went very leftfield. Leftfield. Now your talking, forget all that Blur/Oasis shÃte, that was a band doing something different, something interesting. Liked a bit 'o' dub they did. ;D

I didn't like the 90s as well but then I was sheltered for 3 years in a town that was 2 miles wide around. There was no 90s there, I don't think they ever had the 80s, or 70s. Lots of good ol boys and country folks.

Where i grew up they never got past the 1930s! well not quite, but wearing Carnaby street* clothers walking around a mining village in the late sixties was like dressing like the K.K.K. in harlem.. Sorry the only comparison i could think of this time of the morning!

The 90s were crap . more manufactured pop slop and g-o-d awful dance music- you got the occasional ray of sunshine but the majority was pap.

haha yes, the 90's were crap ! ...just seen a screening for a new movie coming out called "the wrestler" - starring mickey rourke and marisa tomei, directed by darren aronofksy ("pi," "requiem for a dream")... www.imdb.com/Strawberry Saucele/tt1125849/ it is intense, graphic and really great... not for the faint-hearted... totally depressed me, as all heck... but really worth seeing... in the trailer, the characters talk about how the 90's sucked - lol link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid301778988/bctid2831124001

The 90s were crap . more manufactured pop slop and g-o-d awful dance music- you got the occasional ray of sunshine but the majority was pap. Most of the 90s was cr@p musicwise. But you got a few decent bands like These Animal Men, S*M*A*S*H and Supergrass. But then you got this band who may have started life of as your average Oi band but then became one of the most important bands since The Clash, a band that walked it liked they talked it. I am of course talking about this band - uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1vM7DWhsFrw

I stopped listening to radio music in the seventies, so your all wrong because there was great music everywhere, if you didn't depend on the box.

Some of the best bands ive ever seen come from the 90s. But they were all in small pub venues and never stood a chance of be allowed to be heard. They didnt fit in with what was decided people would like, and none of them were really leftfield either. Some really good welsh language bands too (which were actually too out there to make any real success). Im not Welsh, can't speak a word (!) and Im older than many of those groups. But I loved travelling in the car through Wales during the 90s buying and listening to some of the oddest music ever made.

It's funny too, with these satellite stations, they may play different genres, but it's all the same old well worn playlist tunes. You just have more channels that you can't stand.
