1976, in the tabloids, I was eight. I come from a very conservative (big and small C) family, and I was scared witless of the strange people with spikey hair. I was honestly frightened to go into the town centre in case I saw some of these deviants.
Then, bit later heard Squeeze, which got me listening to late night punk/new wave shows on the radio under the covers so no-one would know, then got into the Boomtown Rats, which got me listening to the Pistols and Clash...
Then my sister (gawd blessa) bought me Never Mind The Bs and One Step Beyond, and, with the side purchase of "The Feeding of the 5000" by Crass, the transformation from Young Tory to to Nutty Punk was complete!

Funny how in the 80's, I was called everything but punk. Freak, new-wave, weirdo, nut-case
Then there is always the.... "did someone frighten you little girl" "did you use spit to make your hair stick-up because I have some to give you" "BOO!" "you look like a prositute" "oh my G-o-d!"
It got more fun with the nose ring(lots of vodka and a safety pin)

Thank the Lord you got yer polictics sorted* And I'm glad to surmise that your politics are still correct, Mr. B. I often worry about musicians with radical stances getting older and moving right. They say that everyone moves to the right as they get older, but I'm still p-ed off about finding that Carl Smythe is a mason! Did you ever meet Jello Biafra? What's he like in the flesh?

I must admit, I have a bit of a problem with anarcho-punk nowadays, too many slightly different definitions, which is the opposite of what I thought anarchy was supposed to be about.
Not sure how I'd imagine Iggy to be, quite full on maybe, what was he like?
Quite underrated, them Stooges. I love playing the guitar lick to I Wanna Be Your Dog loud and raucus.

That was the year I saw him do a show in Vancouver (he would have been 33). This is no BS, but he held himself parallel over his mic stand like a gymnast at one point. Amazin'!

sAW THE pISTOLS AND THE cLASH AND sUBWAY sECT AT THE 100 CLUB 1976.. The Subway Sect was a band that Bernie Rhodes F@cked up big time. He still has the masters to their first unreleased LP and refuses to give them up. Vic Roddyard decided to rerecord it all a couple of years ago so it finally got a release. On their second single the band were suprised to hear keyboards all over it, again Bernie decided to put these on without the bands consent! Did you ever come across 'em Rod at rehearsal rehearsals?
