Hi Dave, yep been on the Dole a couple of times myself... First time on the Clash tour when a work mate shopped me to the foreman for sleeping at work and i was given the alternative the band or job- i quit but didnt tell the misses as we had just took on a mortage!! oops . Then in 1986 when the little ild earned from the Specials run out, not much fun being heckled when you signing on "whats it like going from being popstar to the dole Rod!" I went back to Paintin & decoratin... lifes just a bowl of cherries*

hi, back again. question did the riffs play blind date.? yes they did play blind date twice if i remember, once in their normal set then again in the encore.was a great night as i had a hangover the next day ha ha. it was a bit dark in this small venue, but i liked these small venues as you feel one with the band.

i used to work around hatfield and the outside of this venue for the local council and must say that it looks just the same today as it must of done in 1979 when the specials played there with madness and the selecter in the hutton hall.the b.b.c also shot some rock goes to college gigs here aswell, aka the police, the Q-tips and joe jackson. i took some pictures on my mobile of the stage and the venue last year,i will try and put them on here some time. keep skanking, dave
