John Read who was trumpet player in the MK2 Specials and also took over bass duties when Horace went sick. He also has a Ska instrumental band called "Kingsize" i think? based in Leicester. Drew Stansall, i met many years ago when i jammed with the Splitters another Ska-punk band from the Leicester-Hinckley area. He now plays Sax + vocals with the Skabilly Rebels as well as playing flute + Sax for the Specials. Tim the trombone player i dont know so well but ive met him several times before the aniversary tour, a great player*

think Tim has played with prince buster? Now you are on to something, that must be where Ive seen one of the brass blokes before as Ive seen the Prince a couple of times live now, the last time was at Croydons Fairfield hall in Nov 2007, a rioteous gig and I was one of the stage invaders at the end.

I highly recommend you see him, I was staggered just how good a performer he is, he dosent go mad when he dances, kind of gently rocks to the rhythm. Ive tried to employ that since as its much easier on the arthritus. He usually tours in the UK with "the Junction band" who are lead by Delroy Wilson (friend and UK manager) and before the Prince comes on the audience are treated to some old classic reggae and Ska all brillinatly played. Although when I wrote about the stage invasion bit at the Fairfield halls I was referring to Delroy shouting to the crowd at the beginning "I didnt realise this place was all seated, no one sits at a Prince Buster concert", he someone what shot himself in the foot then. Im hoping to get tickets for the Camden centre gig in November, money allowing.

All this talk of Prince Buster has reminded me that he was supposed to have a new album out 2 years ago.....Ive searched the internet and cant find any mention of it. It was called "Subliminal reaction" or something???. He used to be on Myspace but seems to have deleted his official account and now there are only fanpages on there and they dont know about the release. I hope its new material and not just re records of old stuff, how many versions of the hits do I need?.
