Id hate to be that close to Mac though, I bet his breath stinks.

She was a great songwriter too, I believe every year the people that knew her and some fans meet up in Soho and walk down to a pub where anyone can get up and play her songs. Billy Bragg did "A new England" adding in the verse that she wrote for the song "dedicating it too her", I beleive from reading Phillip Chevrons (Pogue) website that there wasnt a dry eye in the house. I belive also there is a Specials and Pogues connection, after reading Nevilles book about your 2nd jaunt in the USA you shared the same road manager, Frank Murray. He had alot too do with the Pogues in the early days.

Yep Frank was tour manager.. and Dave Jordan Specials soundman/producer worked with them and went on to the Popes with Shane until the drugs killed him.

I was thinking the other day that all the bands I like can be connected in some way through roadies or sharing of personnel, I liek the Clash and found out only recently that the blockheads worked alot with the Clash in the early 80s. Small world the music one.........

Not only bands but it's pretty amazing the people you meet through music who you realise you must have crossed paths with for the last 20-odd years and never actually met, and you know so many of the same people. It is indeed a small world!

rod, the shells have that 'James Dean', 'The Jam', type of mystique and talent, and will always appeal to folks (celebs and others) with exceptional musical taste...
