More than stupid, hope that's changing with some of the newer bookings?! I don't get how little money is in gigs, how are people supposed to live

Are people managing to live? There doesn't seem to be any money in anything.

Yes i feel guilty for having more than most recently. Nothing to be ashamed of, its boom or bust in your job. Take it while you can. Its horrible for me at the moment, I feel abit sick with worry and have been really off with people lately due to lack of cash. Some of my friends cant seem to undersatnd why I cant go down the pub everyday with them, or Ive had to cancel one or two things we had arranged. Someof them have cushy jobs with the council in the offices, they havent been hiot liek the rest of us in the private sector. Im having afew sleepless nights.

sorry to hear that, I must admit, not intending to upset any public sector workers here, that when I hear 'I only got a 2-3% pay rise' I feel like saying, I haven't had a pay rise for near on 4 years now. I realise I may earn more in basic working for the private sector, but it still gets to you after a while.

I realise I may earn more in basic working for the private sector, but it still gets to you after a while. That wasnt a dig at public sector workers. Im just relating it to my own personal experience. I have friends who are in a similar position as me, but they are getting the full dole. I just cant see why Im forced to live on £39 a week. Id love to see a politician try that. At least I suppose Ill lose that bit of weight I was carrying around my middle....
