To those of you who said on the FB page that you could help with organizing the promotions for the Skab's appearance at the Skabour Festival in September...as per request, I am moving the discussion here.
So...let's get scheming, folks! I have a few ideas, and am working on designing some custom promotional material for fliers and such, but I would really like to know what ideas you guys have, and how you can help get new and old Skabs fans alike in that crowd.

As i said on FB - it is our intention to give all the bands a platform to shift their merchandise.
I can't say what the plans are for the weekend as a whole but I can tell you what we want to happen on the 2nd.
as we all (I hope) know the Friday gig is being held at the Leas Cliff hall, Folkestone. from 7PM
However, we are having a warm up party starting at noon at the Channel suite (part of the Leas Cliff complex)
at this warm up party we will be inviting all the bands, as well as the general public, on the bill to come together and get in the mood for the weekend.
At this warm up party we intend to make available a "shop front" for each of the bands on the Friday bill to sell their wares all through the day.
Once the warm up is over the stalls then move in to the main hall and continue selling to the people who are only there for the gig.
We will leave it up to the bands themselves to choose what they sell from their range - you know CD's, Vids, branded goods Etc.
We also intend to have a band "happy hour" the idea behind this is that we feature each of the bands on the bill to "power" sell their Superior Force Of Natures at a reduced rate, the goods on offer can be whatever the bands want to sell - maybe some slow moving stock or Old CD's Etc.
The only thing we can't supply is the staff to run the stalls this will have to be supplied by the band themselves.
Sorry if this was a bit long winded for a post on here but you did ask and we want The rebs to enter into this knowing what we are offering and what we are not

Okay, a few questions...TTN, do you know what time each merch selling opportunity will be occurring, and Roddy...do we have merch people, and shall I recruit some REBELLION members to help out with getting people to the booth, flyering, etc?

Lizy, yes - its pretty much all day Friday from 12:00 onwards. there will be people in and out all day, then at 7:00pm the stuff gets moved out to the main hall and you continue selling out there.
We are not professionals and we have no intention of restricting the Skabs from selling what they want.
If you or (Roddy) want to continue selling merch all over the weekend we might be able to combine a stall so that you won't have to provide a body to sell.
we can sort that out on the Friday. all that really needs to be done from your end is get the merch there for Ideally noon but whatever time you like really - it's your (the Skabs) selling opportunity.

by the way - what do you mean flyering? - we are doing that non stop where ever we go.
If you mean Skabilly Rebs flyers for the event - not sure that's what's needed - but if you think it works do it.

To be honest our team - that's the gig going one, not the Skabour one tends to push the music events we are going to as a matter of course. Just about every band in London jumps for joy when one of us walk in to their gigs - it usually means another 20 or 30 to follow
