Apparently certain Confederates wanted to put Black soldiers on the battle field and fight for their freedom and towards the end they did get a battalion together but it was all too late by then and they never fought.

I've got a broadsword mounted on the lounge wall, got it in Cornwall on our honeymoon about 20 years ago to keep the missus in check!!! Always fancied getting a cavalry sword as well but never got round to it.
