...for Mr Rod.
What made you choose a Les Paul? Have you always stuck with the same model for live gigs? What others (if any) have you used in the studio?
I've recently discovered this forum.."isn't it nice in here?" (as The Desperate Daned used to say...hey! Here's a thought, if Brad can't make the re-union tour, how about calling on Rat's services? He's not in any band at the mo & I'd pay top dollar to see that!).
Thanks for answering these questions, you're a gentleman. Hong Kong Phoey, no...that was the bass player, wasn't it?

Guitars? well i only had one when i first joined the Specials it took me three yrs playing working mens clubs to save the cash, the Black Gibson Les Paul Custom that Nevelle later used on the N.F. Then i bought a Gibson Les Paul Special T.V white which i used on "Rat Race" and "Too much to young" gave that to my bro Marc. I bought a White Gibson Les Paul in L.A. A gibson 335 which i used on the MOR SPECIALS Album. A Gretch Chet Akins i got in Japan as Horace mentions in his wonderful book, which i also gave to Marc he sold it for a couple of hundred quid it was worth a least a thousand! hope this aint boring you..

The guitar on the Rat Race video is a Sitar guitar! which Jerry had borrowed-hired from The Who which i played on "International Jet Set", Jerry played it on that too as we fell out about the end or something?

Ah, that reminds me! I'll have to pop over to Jerry's forum and ask about the merits of a Vox Continental over a Farfisa Compact Duo...
Thanks for answering the guitar related questions. I didn't know wether to laugh or cry when you said about that Gretsch going for a song. I hope Marc has since learned the true value of axe economics since that megaboob.

Did anyone get the "Carry on" quote? My first guitar was a Selmer acoustic i bought off a friend for £8. Then a got a Vox Strat type thing. Then a Hofner Senitor. Then i switched to bass as all my mates were better than me. The bass was a british Burns Tri-sonic. Then a fender mustang bass. then a friend got me an audition in a workingmans club band as lead guitarest (ild just bought a Les paul Antoria -copy in gold) From then on it all went down hill.......
