Did I not see you play in a bluesy type band in the 80's called something like Shaking Finger Pop? or am I definitely going mad! I definitely seen Horace in the Mosquito's.

Prefer the old stuff mostly, yeah Shakin finger pop who were also called Jumpin Bad and sometimes the Blue dogs. I played a fender telecaster sometime with them or a Gretch. I also jammed with the Mosquitos - great fun!

Think ill use my new Gibson B.B.King Lucille guitar for the first full Specials rehearsal* Bought it from a guy in Norway who plays in a blues band called Loose Ends, got the money after doing a guest spot with Dave Wakelings Beat in New Mexico last year. Over paid for a welcome change*

We've done electric guitars, what about Acoustic Roddy? While we are at it Pedals as well? Were you playing your own songs with the Beat or just filling in with them? The Mosquitos were always fun live.

Never mind about the guitars! What effects pedals did you use in The Specials?
Did one help make those sharp cutting ska chords I'm struggling with?!
Thanks.

I never used pedals in the early Specials, Dave Jordan added effects-echo,reverb,delay out front from the mixing desk.Same goes for the first two studio albums. The sharp cutting ska chords were from Lynval Goldings - Fender Telecaster going through a fender twin reverb or in the early days a H&H 100 watt combo.

I have been learning a lot of specials songs on my guitar lately..I am doing ok by ear but every now and then I need a helping hand...mind if I get it from the horses mouth Roddy. Liked the tab in Total Guitar for Concrete Jungle.Quality.
