The roots bunch at the Railway Club are mostly old punks from the time and I'm the "Ska" guy because of the Villains and of course my being a fan of the Specials. So it's kinda funny telling them that the twangy guitar was Roddy who's actually a Rockerbilly type. Butch, the singer, was even singing a couple of verses of Message to You Rudy, while we were standing at the bar. He'd been giving them a listen.

And I've wondered if emphasizing the fact you are on show posters etc. tends to attract the wrong audience: Specials fans looking for a Specials tribute instead of rock and roller types.

The Television Personalaties had a song "I was a Mod before You was a mod"! I'm not slagging off Green Day to me they sound like Powerpop with a bit of the Ramones thrown in....Nothing wrong with that.

Know what you mean, i also know Jake Burns and the Clash + Ramones wonder why they never made millions. A bit like UB40 compared to the Specials - but hey ho who said life was fair*

It's funny the amount of people you see dressed in Ramones T Shirts these days, they have become a fahion accessory. I'm pretty sure most of the people have never heard a track by the Ramones.

Its a shame the Bodysnatchers never recorded an album as i loved their sixties girl group come rocksteady vibe... Daz There's enough studio tracks of The Bodysnatchers to put out an album. There's the 4 songs they put out on 2 Tone and they also recorded 12 tracks for radio sessions. I've only ever managed to find 6 of the songs from the radio sessions - 'Hiawatha', 'The Boiler', 'What's This', 'Private Eye', 'Ghost Of The Vox Continental' and 'Happy Time Tune'. I'd be interested to hear the other 6 tracks if anyone has them. I know that 'The Loser' was one of the other 6 tracks, not sure on the other 5 Strawberry Sauceles though.

Other times it's wether a band will play the corprate game and sell their soul.

Roddy, you have been on a major label...How pushy were Chrysalis? Also I believe The Specials recouped their record company advance quite quickly so they were no longer in debt to them.
