Just joined, I didn't know about this site until I posted on the Stupid Marriage debate on Specialscom2. Just started reading some of the threads, a great read so far and thank you for giving us fans an insight to the band. I grew up listening to your band, who in my eyes are No1. Went to Newcastle, Birmingham, Brixton & Coventry with me sons & mates. They were all great nights, I don't know why but I didn't enjoy Coventry as much as the others. To me it is very clear, 6 specials v 1 special, clearly that one special must be the one that is out of tune with the rest. The tour was great & Jerry must be gutted that he missed out, for me it was my dream come true. Thanks for everything.

Hi. I just wanted to say thnx to Roddy.I waited thirty years to see you,and it was worth the wait. It´s the only time I gone abroad to see a band, but The Specials isn´t just any other band, they are THE band. Shame my mum couldn´t make it though, but she is almost eighty now and didn´t thought she could take the strain of traveling. She is still a fan though, and sends her best regards. Thank you Roddy for a fantastic gig.

Yup,she was the one that turned my on to reggae and ska during my early days.My gran had a mate who was a sailor and he brought back old 45´s from Jamaica and gave to my mum.She and I used to listen to radioshows on african music and reggae in my early teens too. When Twotone came along, she was more familiar to the sound than most critics in the swedish papers:-) Not too shabby for a swedish homemaker,my mates mums had the worst tastes there is.They used to come over to check out her record collection, allthough the old ska 45´s had been stolen years before. She still have the old Bob Marley,The Maytals,The Pioneers etc -albums on vinyl. And on her birthday last friday I brought her a Skatalites CD...she loved it:-)
