I have to confess to having been a member of the six of one Prisoner appreciation soicety up until about 3 years ago. I was obsessed with that programme since I caught it in 1992 on channel 4. I have my own number 6 badge which Im very proud of and also been to Portmerion twice to look over it. I was also gutted this year when Patrick Macgoohan died he was a man I always admired, he was creative, hard working, a Desperate Dan fine actor and also a hardened drinker. I only wish hed written a biography. Roddy is your favourite episode "living in harmony" when hes drugged and made to live in a western?. Also they have remade it which im not looking forward too as its stripped away most of what made the original show so groundbreaking.

Its episode 14 Living in harmony. Interesting fact it was filmed on the same set they used for Carry on Cowboy and is on the back lot of MGM. Pinewood studios, I wonder if its still there?. I recommend Portmerion as a nice day out, but it is quite expensive to have a coffee and something to eat there. Next time Im in London Im going too visit the exterior of Number 6's London home which I believe is somewhere near Buckinham Palace. Looks like Ill have too give Camden Town a miss as I always end up there or the Boogaloo pub near Highgate.

I loved the Avengers when it was on Bravo years ago. The Theme tune is brilliant aswell, I always thought Madness should walk out to that onstage.
Also the fall and rise of Reginald Perrin and Citizen Smith, in fact Im just reeling off my DVD collection. I was born at the wrong time.........

The Prisoner. Great song by Doa I remember a show back around 1980 called Hollywood Heartbeat hosted by Bob welch of the legendary surf band "The Chantays" It was out of Los Angeles It was about the up and coming "new wave" bands. I believe this is where i heard and saw my first Specials song/video "Rat Race" There was a lot of other video's on this show such as XTC - Making Plans for Nigel, Gary Numan's - I Die You Die, Ultravox - New European's Devo - Freedom of Choice. I think The Selector had a vid on here to but can't remember it. Some of the others were Ian Hunter, Billy Burnette, Blondie, Talking Heads and a bunch of others. It was a pretty cool show for a 12 - 13 year old at the time.
