John Bradbury is a fan of Blur or was when I spoke to him. It was at a Slecter gig during the soundcheck back in the mid 90s. JB saw me reading a Blur fanzine and told me that he was a fan of the band and even had a Blur 'Pop Scene' t-shirt. I remember that the fanzine mentioned that Terry Hall was touring with the band which JB didn't know about at the time.
I loved both bands back in the day and was one of the 1000s that went to Knebworth to see Oasis. But listening to Oasis now all the songs sound the same, they just don't seem to have changed/progressed since their first album. Blur's big album 'Parklife' also hasn't aged too well. Infact the only Blur album I still listen to from time to time is 'Modern Life Is Rubbish'. Saying that I did love the Good The Bad & The Queen album that Damon put out a few years back.

The worthiest successors to the Kinks since Madness.
Oasis were a conundrum to me: good tunes, but a complete pair of nobs.
It was a shame that Jarvis started running Pulp as a personal project, rather than a band, they were ship-hot for a while.

The worthiest successors to the Kinks since Madness. Yeah, always thought that Blur sounded a bit like Madness. Especially on this track - uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IjH2_fbjRCc

"Yeah, always thought that Blur sounded a bit like Madness. Especially on this track - uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IjH2_fbjRCc" Perfect example! Would fit in on a Madness or Kinks album seamlessly. Nice one.

Still listen to the Kinks and there are not many bands that i still like from my early teens. Bought "Transformer" again on C.D. Lou Reed some good stuff* apart from the gay/bi bullcrap.
