I thought JBs Allstars were a top job as well- quite under rated, hardly released a bad single and like Bazza says would love to have had an album from them. I think it's about time that all the JB Allstars singles were reissued on a CD collection. Might have a word with Cherry Red Records to see what are the chances of them obtaining the rights for a Cd release.

When I first went to see the Tearjerkers it was because of Roddy being in the Specials but I was under no illusion that they were going to be anything like the Specials. I already knew what his musical prefrences were and I was not expecting him to play any Specials songs either as this was a new band.
Their are plenty of people who would be happy to see a band just play their favorite LP by that band time and time again. I have seen it time and time again where bands release a new LP and people at the gigs looked bored or talk all the way through the new songs and only come alive when they hear an old song played. Why bother going, why not just sit at home and play the LP over and over if that is what you want to hear.

It's amazing how many Ottos there are when it comes to music. My name is Otto, and I like to get blotto.

Ive re-recorded Desire with the Bonediggers in a neo-Rock,a,billy way and im mixing a reggae version ive recently recorded with the Skabbie Rebs* The original demo was country.n,wesrtern then Nick Lowe slowed it down to a "Let there be drums" sorta feel which i didnt like as you couldnt dance to it..but Rick Rogers(x Specials manager) who was lookin after me ,n, the band (also the Fun boy three..) said he must be right as he was Nick Lowe and had several hit recordings! and also a drink ,n, drug problem at that time. Stick to yer guns Cowboy*

Musical tastes differ , if we were all the same be a pretty boring world ! i love the music of all the two tone bands , and still do , so im living in a timewarp and still dress the fashion and shave my head , but please dont call me brain dead ! if you bring out new material i will listen and have an opinion , if i dont like it then i dont simple as that it will only be my opinion , it wont stop me loving the old stuff .

Fair comment Specialskin. But us musicians cant -well some of us, keep churning out the same stuff over ,n, over again and i think the Specials can do new stuff equally as good as the old stuff. I have my own favourite bands, songs, artists from my youth and occasionally play their stuff when im havin a beer at home but.. i dont have to live in a Time Warp all the time!
