Off to see Pama International in a couple of weeks and can't wait! But I know a few skinheads round here slag the band off as they aren't a carbon-copy of The Specials. Saw Pama International last night and they were on top form as always, but there was no Lynval in the bands line up. Has he left the band to concentrate on The Specials reunion?

Lynval spent months over here and his little boy really missed him. I think hes coming back this week? so maybe hell do a couple with Pama?

Still, there was an ex-member of The Specials (MkII) line up in the band that night as Aitch Hyatt was on drums for the Georgian gig. Someone said that Aitch Hyatt had only learnt the songs that day while travelling up to the gig. Don't know if that is true or not but he did a great job on the night.

"Yes ive often wondered about Ghost town? the middle 8 vocal bit reminds of a Kinks tune.."
Would that tune be 'Come Dancing'? I heard it for the first time (in memory) recently, and I thought "The day they pulled down the Palais" souned a bit like the "Do you remember the good old days...." bit of GT
"Its only recently that ive been able to listen to "Stereotype" without feeling physically sick."
The live version on "This are Two Tone" and the version from the BBC Sessions are awesome though.

Just checked up and 'Come Dancing' was released in 1983. In fact if my memory is working ok I remember watching The Kinks doing the song on ToTP's back in 1983 and it was also the first time that the video for 'Wings Of A Dove' by Madness was shown on TV. It will of been the 'State Of Confusion' tour when I saw The Kinks. Even got to speak to Ray Davies after the gig and you can read more about it over on my MySpace - My first gig

My mistake, I thought Come Dancing was a re-release in the 80s.

The Specials supported the Kinky ones 1980 i think at a european Festival - my amp wouldnt work and being a bit wound up as it was a huge gig i kicked it over ( Marshal type head on tall cab) it went over and smashed the Kinks keyboard! i hadnt realized it was there oops! Horace mentions this story in his book. Sorry guys..

Come Dancing (song and musical) were moving tributes to his sister who died young. Most of his songs are about or involved her.
Saw The Kinks in 93 at the Albert Hall. I hear Daves making a good recovery from his stroke and theres talk of an original line up comeback?

There has been talk in the press recently from Ray about a possible Kinks reunion. But Dave has said "it would be like a bad remake of night of the living dead".
